Laura Marling – I Speak Because I Can

Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can

Another fine collection of tracks out now from Laura. Played it back-to-back twice so far, and loving it.
Such a shame linking is disabled to her video for the opening track ‘Devil’s Spoke’.

Susanne Sundfør – The Brothel

Susanne Sundfør - The Brothel

Aside from having a wonderful voice, Susanne also creates some really innovative orchestration on her latest release.

Thanks to John F for suggesting that I give her a listen. Here is the link John sent with a couple of good videos.

Noe Venable – The Summer Storm Journals

Noe Venable - The Summer Storm Journals

My local library has just closed for a refurbishment for 6 months, so they are sending out vans with books, videos and CD’s on them.
They park in specific places on specific days at specific times. One parks two street away from me… Perfect.

I wonder who gets to choose the content of mobile libraries… What a great job that would be.

Anyway, I picked up this disc from 2007 last week from the van, and how aurally beautifully caressing it is.
I look forward to more from her.

P.S. Go support your local library!

Sa Dingding – Harmony

Sa Ding Ding - Harmony

More ‘Western’ than her first album ‘Alive’. Nothing wrong with that, although not all the tracks do it for me.
Check out the Paul Oakenfold remix on her website.

Acoustic and calmer than her previous outing.

Emily Jane White - Victorian America

I have been chilling out to Emily Jane Whites second album for the last few days.
Some quite dark themes running through it but delicious.
