Alison Goldfrapp was on Radio 4 Saturday 17th April choosing her inheritance tracks. One she inherited and one she would pass on. She choose to pass on the track ‘Expecting’ from the 1970 debut album from Minnie. And what a belter it is to. Not surprising with a five octave range.
You probably will be familiar with the opening track to this album ‘Les Fleur’ that 4Hero covered on their album ‘Creating Patterns’.
She sadly died of cancer in 1979. What a lose.
I couldn’t find a version of this track online so I played with a few programs on my Mac to give you this.
Minnie Riperton – ‘Expecting’ from the album ‘Come to My Garden’
