The Deer Tracks – The Archer Trilogy Pt. 1 – E.P. (2011)
The Archer Trilogy Pt. 2 is already out and I hadn’t even gotten around to spending time with Pt. 1.
Shame on me.

Mariam Jäntt is a bit hit and miss on this her third release. There are some outstanding tracks however, so worth checking out.
Manna – ‘Shackles’ from the album ‘Shackles’
Sóley Stefánsdóttir’s solo debut is just devine.
Puts me in mind of Stina Nordenstam’s delicious debut ‘Memories of a Color’ with a sprinkling of CoCoRosie’s debut ‘Noah’s Ark’.
Sóley – ‘Smashed Birds’ from the album ‘I’ll Drown’
For distributors go to Moor Music.
If you are in the UK, Boomkat have MP3, FLAC and CD versions.
Her latest is released today, with the option of a Deluxe version adding a second CD of songs.
A real filmic/soundtrack feel to the whole album.
Delicious vocals as usual from the wonderful Ane.
Ane Brun – Do You Remember (Official Video) from Ane Brun on Vimeo.
Gritty shoe-gazing from Swedens Maria Mortensen.
Scarlet Chives – ‘Don’t You Put Your Hands There’
Electronica trio from Norway featuring Norwegian film star Viktoria Winge on vocals.
You can choose how much to pay for their album over on the website.
How cool is that.
Babyjaws – ‘Sunshine’
Fronted by Anna Brønsted, their second, more upbeat, full release after the totally soporific 2008 When Your Blackening Shows.
They are playing at the Bestival, Isle of Wight UK in September.
Our Broken Garden – ‘Seven Wild Horses’ from the album ‘Golden Sea’
This version is a bit more upbeat than the album version.
Velvet vocals and piano with the occasional non intrusive backing instrument.
An utterly divine debut.
Agnes Obel – ‘Riverside’ from the album ‘Philharmonics’
Very intellectual in its concept, but Jenny carries it off and produces a aurally velvet album.
Jenny Hval – ‘How Gentle’ from the album ‘Viscera’
Jenny Hval – ‘Blood Flight’ (live) from the album ‘Viscera’
Some highly infectious tunes on Nanna Øland Fabricius latest release.
She is supporting Sia and Katy Perry on tour later this year, which can’t be a bad thing.
Her website did my head in a little though…
Oh Land – ‘Perfection’ (live) from the album ‘Oh Land’
I’ve been grooving away to this delightfully jazzy/ballroom/with a modern twist release.
I defy you not to enjoy it…
Caro Emerald – ‘That Man’ from the album ‘Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor’
Wonderfully refreshing, slightly mad, modern cabaret?
Karen Duelund Guastavino sings her heart out.
Mademoiselle Karen – ‘Attention’ from the album ‘Attention’
Mademoiselle Karen – ‘Danse la Tango’ from the album ‘Attention’
More bouncy electro from her second set of tracks in the Body Talk series.
Robyn – ‘Hang With Me’ from the album ‘Body Talk PT2’
Part one of three releases set for this year from the effervescent Robyn.
Body Talk Pt. 2 – September 2010.
Speak Your Body: Body Talk Pt. 3 – December 2010.
Some fabulous jazz from Noways Solveig Slettahjell.
Not heard of her before, great stuff.
